1527101 Treating comminuted oats DU PONT OF CANADA Ltd 15 June 1976 [17 June 1975] 25804/75 Heading A2Q [Also in Division C5] Gum-free flour is obtained from oats by (a) admixing comminuted oats with an organic solvent capable of extracting oat oil and of causing separation of the oats into flour - enriched and bran - enriched fractions (b) causing the admixture to separate into the fractions and (c) separating the two fractions, the amount of flour separated being at least 20% by wt. of the comminuted oats. The solvent may be pentane, hexane, heptane, cyclohexane or a C 1 -C 4 alcohol. The oats may be deoiled in step (a). |
