Prodn. plant is claimed in parent patent for continuous hollow profiled extrusions of synthetic material to prescribed tolerances, has a worm extruder, extrusion dies, a calibrating device, a cooling arrangement for the hollow profiled extrusions, and a drawing off mechanism. The worm extruder and the drawing off mechanism have adjustable driving systems, whilst the calibrator has both internal and external dies. In front of the calibrating tools, there is a measuring device for the amt. of banked up plastic material, and this is associated with a control arrangement which regulates the worm drive and/or the take off mechanism, so that the amt. of backed-up material at the calibrating tools inlet corresponds to a prescribed nominal amt. The outer die and the inner die of the calibrator in this claim have an inlet with leads positioned roughly in the same plane, and the probe for measuring the amt. of banked-up plastic, is placed in the zone of the tool inlet. It is made possible to produce the profiled extrusions consistently and with certainty to very narrow limits. |
