Combination lock for luggage - has grooved combination rings and fixed guides for sleeves on shaft

The combination is used for carrier bags and suitcases. The lock has an axially sliding shaft (21) and a row of cylindrical sleeves (26) which can be rotated and moved axially on the shaft. These sleeves are moved relative to each other and against a spring (27) loaded stop. Each sleeve accommodates axially sliding grooved rings (31) rotated into a preselected angular position. A sleeve (26) on the shaft can pass through a hole in a plate (35) only if its angular positions is such that the sleeve radial projection is aligned with radial opening in the plate. The movement of the locking element (15) is limited by the combination ring and shaft system.
