1512951 Lamps C M CHURCHOUSE Ltd 5 May 1975 [16 Feb 1974] 7187/74 Heading F4R The housing of a lamp 13 includes a wall 17 in a lower part 11 of light transmitting material and side walls 14 which converge towards the rear of the lamp where there are attachment means 30 for securing the housing in cantilever fashion to a support. In one embodiment, as shown, the side walls 20 of the lower part 11 are also of light transmitting material. The walls 14, 15 define a triangular housing with a sleeve 30 adjacent the rear apex region 21 for reception on a support pole. The top of the housing 16a may be apertured so that the pole extends through the housing. The lower, transmitting part 11 is attached to the upper opaque part 10, e.g. of extruded aluminium, by splayed spring clips 29 engaged in elongate slots in flanges 26. In another embodiment, the side walls are wholly opaque and the bottom wall only is transparent. In another attachment arrangement, the housing rear end is truncated and receives a bolted-on mounting box for attachment to a vertical plane surface (Figs. 5-7, not shown). |
