<p>A tension thread (18) is inserted into the fabric web (15) at points (16), where the fabric width changes abruptly, and is maintained under tension by holders (19, 20) arranged on both sides of the working range of the machine. The holders (19, 20) can be guided, together with the fabric web (15), into the region of a drawing-off roller. For the insertion of the tension thread (18), there is provided a tension-thread guide (17) which, in order to form interconnected tension-thread loops, can be guided forwards and backwards over the entire working range of the machine at the fabric-width transitions (16) succeeding one another in the drawing-off direction. One of the two holders (19) is a thread clamp, whilst the other holder (20) is designed as a deflecting web for the tension thread (18). The thread clamp (19) is spring-loaded in the tensioning direction, and, at each point along its adjusting travel, it can selectively be released and moved back into its initial position together with the other holder (20). The apparatus works absolutely reliably at a low outlay in terms of construction. It can insert a tension-thread loop at any desired point on the fabric, whilst all the thread loops can be interconnected and can subsequently be drawn out of the fabric in an interconnected manner. <IMAGE></p> |
