METHOD FOR LOCATING TERMINAL FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A location tracking method of a terminal for a switched beamforming-based wireless communication system is provided to enable terminals which recognize beams to register locations by notifying a base station that the terminals exist in corresponding beam areas, thus the locations of the terminals can be simply tracked even without using complex DOA(Direction Of Arrival) algorithm. Plural beam spaces are defined through space multiplexing based on a base station(410). The beam spaces are scheduled according to predetermined patterns. Beams are simultaneously formed in at least one beam space. Existence and locations of terminals(420,420') are perceived by deciding whether response messages for the beams are received from the terminals.
