The cylindrical tip (1) of a radio antenna has a hole drilled in it (4) to receive the end of the aerial rod. This is shaped to form progressively reducing dias. For a nominal 2mm dia. for example, the entry(s) would be made to 2.4 mm, the section (4a) to 1.95 to 0.02-0.01mm and height 2mm and the section (4b) to 1.92 + 0.02, - 0.01mm. The end of the aerial would be made to tolerances of +/- 0.02 mm. The rod will always enter the opening (5) and may make an interference point with the lower section (4a). If not it can be pushed in further to make a fit in the upper section (4b).
|
