Reinforced container lifting tackle - has grab jaws pivoting on spreader beam fitted to top linked to crane hook

The crane lifting tackle is for handling containers strengthened along the top edges. A supporting frame, typically a spreader beam (1) is placed on the contained top (3), and two or more double-armed grab jaws (7) opposite each other pivot on it on horizontal axes (6). Attachments are provided on the inner ends (9) of the jaws arms, whch are spaced apart, for chains (12, 13) to the crane hook, while the outer ends engage (8) under the protruding container edges. Pivoting links (18) on their inner ends extends downwards and have at their lower ends pins (16) working in control cam tracks (15) formed in the spreader beam. These regulate engagement and release of the jaws as the chains are pulled and released.
