The angled double tenon (13) connector is for joining the tubular members (11, 12) of a table support frame. Two square hollow section members (11) of a subtable top (10) ring frame are joined to a tubular leg (12) at a table corner. The connector is of approx. 'L' shape with each of the legs (13) entering the end of a conjunctive ring frame member (11). The external angle is contoured (30) to form a concave seat for the leg section (12). In plan the tenons (13) subtend the angle required between the ring frame members (11), and a fillet (F) in the internal angle affects node enlargement to accommodate the leg seat (30). The fillet (F) is normal to the bisectrice of the inter-tenon angle, and the ring frame members are chamfer cut to a but (31) the leg section on the external elevation. The radius of the leg seat (30) may be reduced relative to that of the leg (12) which is fixed by a diametric bolt (14).
|
