<p>A section rolling machine for strip, plates, etc. has section rolls arranged in a stand such that two units are positioned one above the other for rolling of various sections with a device for lifting or lowering the units in or out of the rolling plane. The arrangement allows rapid change of section with consequent increase in productivity. The mill has two units one above the other for rolling various sections, with an elevating device for moving the units in or out of the rolling plane. by means of hydraulic cylinders on the foundation and acting on the carrier frame. Changing of the upper and lower section rolls of the upper unit can be done with little loss of time while those of the lower units must be withdrawn sideways, taking rather more time.</p> |
