1517442 Microcapsules FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 9 April 1976 [9 April 1975] 14676/76 Heading B8C [Also in Division D2] Polynuclear microcapsules for use in preparing pressure-sensitive recording material contain droplets of an oily substance the average particle size (d) of the droplets being from 0À5 to 10 Á and the average particle size (D) of the microcapsules being from 3À0 to 50 Á and meeting the requirement D > 1À3d. The microcapsules are suitably prepared by complex coacervation and the oily substance preferably contains a colour-former dissolved therein. The microcapsules may be used in the production of pressure-sensitive recording material wherein said material comprises a sheet support having on one face thereof a layer of said microcapsules. The recording material may be single-, double- or multiple-ply copying sheet.
