1367813 Vehicle wheel trim rings YMOSMETALLWERKE WOLF & BECKER GmbH & CO 14 July 1972 [19 July 1971] 33116/72 Heading B7C A trim ring 1 for a vehicle wheel comprises an axially inboardly protruding annular flange 1a on which spaced pairs of radial webs 2 are formed, the webs in each pair being interconnected by a bridge 5 and a cross-web 3 spaced from the bridge, and a respective fastening clip 6 for securing the trim ring to the rim 14 of the vehicle wheel clamped between the webs 2 in each pair and the associated bridge and cross-web. Each clip 6 may have a slotted curved portion 8 located between the bridge 5 and cross-web 3, a flat central portion 7 abutting the radially inner side of the bridge, a resilient slotted portion 10 which bears with a free end on a rib or ribs (11) (Fig. 1, not shown) on the flange 1a to hold the portions 7 and 8 in position, a further curved portion 9 bearing against the rib or ribs of the flange 1a, and a spring arm 12 extending substantially radially outwardly to terminate in a free end 13 for engagement with the wheel rim 14. The arm 12 has an angled portion 13 whose apex points towards the outboard side of the trim ring. |
