<p>The safety device applicable at loading points for tank wagons carrying hydrocarbons, is used in connection with access to the upper level of wagons of varying height, involving a platform extending along the wagon and an individual access unit hinged to the platform, forming a flap which can swing between a release position away from the wagon and an operative position laid against the side of the wagon. The flap (2, 4, 5) is fitted with an outside protective device, comprising a panel (8) hinged by arms (13, 14) to supports (6, 7) which are firmly connected to the platform; this can be moved between a release position and an operative position. The arms are pref. in the form of hinged parallelograms which enable the protective panel to maintain a constant slope, independently of the height of the vehicle.</p> |
