PURPOSE:To relieve the occurrence of a feeling of disorder by providing a mechanism detecting a noticed point in a display picture of a user and a mechanism matching a display position in the depth direction due to parallax of both eyes of a detected noticed point with an image forming position in the depth position of a picture display panel by an eyepiece lens. CONSTITUTION:An eye tracker 7 detects a noticed point with respect to a screen depending on the position of a pupil of a user. A processing unit 8 Leduces the depth information of the noticed point in contract with a three- dimensional picture data with respect to the detected noticed point. Since the depth is used to calculate the separation width of left and right pictures for parallax of both eyes and the position at which image is formed by the eyepiece lens, a signal generating circuit 9 generates picture signals for left and right eyes separately and an eyepiece drive signal. The position of an imaginary image 4 is made equal to the position of the noticed point in the picture displayed on a picture display panel 3 by using the eyepiece whose focus is variable based on the noticed point of the user as a reference to relieve the occurrence of a feeling of disorder. |
