PURPOSE:To easily obtain a chord progression of desired music by selecting plural chord progressions from a chord progression data base means according to a user's instruction and editing the chord progression of the music based on the selected chord progressions according to a user's instruction. CONSTITUTION:The above device is provided with the chord progression data base 10 stored with a data base of chord progressions, a chord progression selection part 23 which selects plural chord progressions from the data base 10 according to the user's instruction, and a chord progression editor which edits the chord progression of music according to the user's instruction by using the chord progressions selected by the progression selection part 23. The chord progression editor includes a music prescribing means which determines music as a chain of passages and a means which edits a chain of specific passages, and uses the chord progressions selected from the data base 10 as the chord progression of the passages. Consequently, each of the chord progressions stored in the data base 10 can be used as a part of the chord progressions of the music to be generated and the user looks for chord progressions to be used in the data base 10 and only rearranges them in desired order, so that the user need not have any special musical knowledge. |
