PURPOSE:To obtain prints of clear pictures even from an insufficiently exposed colored negative film, by providing a filter which extracts only each spectral component of blue, green, and red out of the optical spectrum of white light between a white-light source and optical mixing box. CONSTITUTION:A filter 8 is provided between a white-light source 1 and optical mixing box 3 and the filter 8 has a filter characteristic shown by the solid line in the figure. That is to say, the filter 8 is formed in the same way as well-known color stripe filters or color mosaic filters which separate white light into three colors of red (R), green (G), and blue (B). Of the white light spectrum radiated from the white-light source 1, only light of wavelengths having efficient spectral transmissivity of a negative film 4 become lighting light. Therefore, even to an insufficiently exposed negative film, the color filter action provided by the negative film can be exerted sufficiently and clear printed pictures can be obtained without obtaining so called 'sleepy photographs'.
