<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the operating characteristics of a liquid crystal shutter from deteriorating and to obtain a preferable printing by providing a temperature sensor of the shutter made of a liquid crystal, a fan for flowing cold air to the shutter, and a fan controller based on the detection signal of the sensor. CONSTITUTION:A printer has a light source 1, a liquid crystal shutter 2, a temperature sensor 3 of the shutter 2, a fan 5 for blowing cold air to the shutter 2, and a fan controller 4 for controlling to drive a fan 5 on the basis of the detection signal of the sensor 3. When the shutter 2 receives heat directly or indirectly from the source 1 to raise at its temperature, the temperature of the shutter 2 is measured by the sensor 3, and input to the controller 4. When the temperature of the shutter 2 exceeds a set upper limit temperature TH, the controller 4 drives the fan 5 to blow cold air to the shutter 2 thereby to lower the temperature of the shutter 2. When the temperature becomes a set temperature TL, the drive of the fan 5 is stopped. It can prevent the operating characteristic of the shutter from deteriorating and conduct a preferable printing.</p> |
