Liquid aeration apparatus

Appts. for introducing gases into liquids, e.g. for chemical and biochemical processes such as oxidation, reduction, fermentation and suitable for deep aeration, having a hollow impeller with projections and slots round its periphery for the passage of the gas, driven by a hollow shaft the interior of which is connected to a supply of gaseous medium, with the improvement whereby the projections carry teeth designed so that during rotation of the impeller the advancing leading edge of each tooth is larger than the trailing edge, and is trough-shaped, while the slots for the passage of the gas occupy the gaps between the teeth.
