PURPOSE: A rechargeable electric lighter is provided to immediately heat a hot wire by continuously feeding electric power to a burner to use the electric lighter and to shorten the preheating time of the lighter by decreasing the volume of the hot wire. CONSTITUTION: A rechargeable electric lighter is composed of: a DC external power supply unit(11); a circular body(1); an ignition unit(21); a partition unit(22); an internal power supply unit(23); a recharge unit(24); and a portable unit(2). The electric lighter is worked by: transferring direct currents(DC) to a conductor(121) on the inner surface through the power supply unit(11); contacting the DC with a conductor(234) coated on the surface of a circular protrusion unit(231) of the power supply unit(23) in the portable unit(2) inserted into a space unit(122); and recharging a recharger(245) with the DC through protruded contact points(243,244) and contact points(241,242).
