A self-contained package of tinder, wood splinters, small wood, and kindling are arranged in a manner to ignite easily and burn to produce wood coals. A perforated box is used to contain the combustibles for market .The said box is also used to stabilize the contained elements until the fire is sufficiently established to be self-sustaining. Within said box, wood elements are arranged in a manner to allow draft to circulate through the material in order to foster flame. Tinder such as plane spills, woodshop shavings, and wood splinters are used on the bottom level. The second level is to be small wood boards, 5mm-10mm thick, with air spaces in between, which are to be supported above the tinder, and be ignited by the tinder. The third level is to be thicker boards, 10mm-20mm thick, with air spaces in between, which rest upon the second level. The fourth level is to be a small piece of kindling resting upon the third level. A match or the like inserted into a lower hole ignites the package to produce a fire and coals ready to ignite a piece of firewood. |
