PURPOSE:To equalize the light output of respective discharge, lamps in a discharge lamp lighting device where two discharge lamps are lighted in parallel through the oscillating output of an inverter circuit. CONSTITUTION:Power from a power supply unit 2 is fed to two discharge lamps FL1, FL2 in parallel via an inverter unit 2. A preheating balancer B2 for equalizing the filament current If1, If2 of the two discharge lamps FL1, FL2, and a preheating balancer B1 for equalizing the composite current Ib1, Ib2 of the lamp current Ia1, Ia2 and the filament current If1, If2 of the two discharge lamps FL1, FL2 are provided in a discharge lamp lighting device. Thereby the lamp current Ia1, Ia2 of the two discharge lamps FL1, FL2 can be equalized so that the variation of light output can be reduced, even though there exist the variation of the discharge lamps FL1, FL2 and the variation of the filament current feeding condensers C1, C2. |
