PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker capable of cooking foodstuff while reducing salt content among components included in the foodstuff. SOLUTION: This heating cooker 1 comprises a heating chamber 20 in which the foodstuff F is placed, a steam generator 50, a gas heat-up heater 41 for heating the steam to prepare the superheated steam, a control device 80, and an operation panel 13 for selecting a menu to cook the foodstuff F. In a first cooking process, at least one of the steam generating heater 52 and the gas heat-up heater 41 is controlled by the control device 80 to supply the superheated steam to the heating chamber 20 and to heat the foodstuff F to reduce salt content in the foodstuff F. A second cooking process is executed after the first cooking process to heat the foodstuff F while controlling at least one of the steam generating heater 52 and the gas heat-up heater 41 by the control device 80.
