PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the characteristics of a cosmetic composition, particularly a cosmetic composition for hair. SOLUTION: In a medium that is acceptable as an cosmetic, the cosmetic composition comprises (a) solid particles including at least 10 wt.% of calcium carbonate, (b) a combination of at least two surfactants selected from a combination of at least one of anionic surfactant (i) and at least one of amphoteric surfactant (ii), or a combination of at least one of anionic surfactant (i) and at least one of nonionic surfactant (iii), and (c) a cationic polymer having a cationic charge density of not larger than 7 meq/g, preferably less than 0.05 meq/g.
