PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire which effectively blocks off an electromagnetic wave generated from an electroconductor and also exhibits superior corona resistance, and especially can be used appropriately in high frequency and high voltage applications, and a method for producing the electric wire. SOLUTION: The electric wire 1 coping with electromagnetic waves comprises an electroconductor 2, an inner layer 3 which is made of a silicone rubber and formed on the periphery of the conductor 2, and an outer layer 4 which is made of silicone rubber containing ferrite and formed on the periphery of the inner layer 3. Also are provided the electric wire 1, wherein the inner layer 3 and the outer layer 4 are separated from each other, and the electric wire 1 wherein the conductor 2 is circular and compressed. In the method for producing the electric wire 1, after the silicone rubber is extruded on the periphery of the conductor 2 to form the inner layer 3, the ferrite-containing silicone rubber is extruded on the periphery of the inner layer 3 and cured to form the outer layer 4.
