Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for reducing sludge in a wastewater treatment system using composite microorganisms. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the sludge reduction method comprises the following steps: injecting a predetermined amount of composite microorganisms, which decompose organic matters into sludge generated during a sewage or wastewater treatment process; and decomposing the organic matters included in the sludge through a suitable metabolic period. The injection amount of the composite microorganisms is determined by biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of wastewater.
