PURPOSE: To provide the video projector system, which is compact and reduces the loss of light, for easily displaying a stereoscopic image with no flicker. CONSTITUTION: A halogen lamp 11 provided with a reflection mirror 12, a pair of polarized beam splitters 13L and 13R and a pair of liquid crystal panels 15L and 15R are built in a box-shaped cabinet 2. One video signal containing left and right images for each field is alternately inputted to the respective liquid crystal panels 15L and 15R and when no video signal is inputted, the image of a video signal in the preceding field is displayed there. Two polarized beams 19L and 19R having mutually orthogonal polarizing directions at the polarized beam splitter 13L are projected through one projecting lens 4 onto a screen 4. Since the video signal in the preceding field is held during the field term of no signal while utilizing the hold effects of the respective liquid crystal panels 15L and 15R, flickerlessness can be attained. |
