METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR UNEVEN PROCESSING AND PERFORATING OF POLYMER WEB SO AS TO MATCH SHAPE OF ONE OR PLURALITY OF THREE-DIMENTIONAL MOLDING STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a web having excellent fluid permeability and imparting comfortable impression of wear to a wearer by forming macroscopic cross-section apertures or debossments and fine-scale apertures having a tubular part of a prescribed length in the web. SOLUTION: A substantially flat web 10 comprising a polymer such as polyethylene is fed through a feed roll 1 into a first forming drum 18 having a vacuum chamber 20 installed therein, guided over a first forming structure 15 comprising a mesh screen or the like on the surface of the drum 18, sprayed with a high-pressure water jet 40 from a high-pressure fluid nozzle 35 located in the middle between a pair of stationary baffles 25 and 30 mostly coincident with the starting point and terminal point of the vacuum chamber 20 and expanded until the web 10 is ruptured to form a multiplicity of fine-scale apertures. The resultant web 10 is subsequently fed into a second forming drum 58 and a high-pressure water jet 100 is jetted from a high-pressure fluid nozzle 90 on the opposite surface of the web 10 on a second forming structure 50 arranged on the outer periphery of the drum 58. Thereby, a three-dimensional apertured polymeric web having a multiplicity of cross-section apertures formed therein is obtained.
