PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of inspection for a state of a coating agent applied and facilitate a change in position to apply a coating agent during a coating agent inspection.SOLUTION: A coating agent inspection method includes: for a master workpiece with an adhesive appropriately applied thereto, acquiring a captured image 21 by imaging a predetermined application region including a workpiece surface 2a with the applied adhesive, the captured image 21 having an inspection frame 22 divided at predetermined intervals in an X direction into divided-image data pieces 23, and obtaining coordinates of a plurality of extracted positions including a position of a boundary between an applied-adhesive image portion 33 and a workpiece-surface image portion 32 for each of the data pieces 23 and setting the coordinates to master data; for an inspection-target workpiece 2, acquiring a captured image 21 divided into divided-image data pieces 23, and obtaining coordinates of a plurality of extracted positions for each of the data pieces 23; and comparing the coordinates of the extracted positions for the inspection-target workpiece 2 with the master data and determining the quality of the state of an adhesive applied to the inspection-target workpiece 2 on the basis of the comparison result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
