PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy generating apparatus which can stably generate energy without requiring burning a fossil fuel. SOLUTION: An energy generating apparatus is constituted of a hydrogen generating apparatus 1 to generate hydrogen by decomposing water by heating water, fuel cells 2 which generate electricity by using hydrogen generated in the hydrogen generating apparatus 1 as a fuel source and supply waste heat generated together with electric power to the hydrogen generating apparatus 1, and a heat pump 3 driven by the electric power generated by the fuel cells 2 to supply heat obtained by a heat source to the hydrogen generating apparatus 1 to heat water. Energy is generated based on the heat taken out of the heat source with the heat pump 3.
