The invention relates to a front panel for a motor vehicle comprising a shock-absorbing structure. According to the invention, the shock-absorbing structure consists of an upper cross member (108) comprising a support (4) bearing an absorber (6; 16; 36; 46; 56) which is formed by a group of absorbing segments (10, 12; 18, 20; 22, 26, 38; 48; 60) which are arranged in a chosen geometry such that, from a selected force threshold, the relative stiffness of the absorber (6; 16; 36; 46; 56) is essentially zero so that the absorber can deform under an essentially-constant force in the event of an impact. The invention is suitable for use in the automobile industry. |
