A distribution system is for a receiving plant for communications signals. The signals are directed to several subscriber terminals by switches, through several high frequency cables. The cables are designed for installation as bundled or stranded single wires, whose diameter is chosen so that the total cable diameter does not exceed 14 mm. The diameter is preferably between six and eight millimetres. The individual wires are wrapped around a tension-proof and compression-proof core. The wires each comprise an inner conductor, an insulation layer and a screen, wrapped in a plastic sleeve. The sleeve is halogen-free and flameproof.
