PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception timing detection circuit for a mobile phone adopting the spread spectrum system that reduces the probability of mis- detection of reception timing, to improve communication success rate. SOLUTION: A weight coefficient K1 is multiplied by a correlation sequence between one slot at first time (step 220). A weight coefficient K2 is multiplied with a correlation sequence in one slot at a 2nd time (step 220). The weight coefficient K2 is larger than the weight coefficient K1. A weight coefficient K3 is multiplied with a correlation sequence in one slot at a 3rd time (step 220). The weight coefficient K3 is larger than the weight coefficient K2. A timing t3 for a peak (Wc×K3), being a maximum value in a sum (average) sequence in the correlation sequences in the 1st-3rd weighted slots, is decided as the reception timing (steps 250).
