The barge has its propeller (6) housed inside a shroud (1) attached to the hull so as to form a tunnel (3e giving a jet effect of the water driven through it by the blades. This shroud widens outwards (8) at first, at the water entry end. The shroud also partly encloses this portion, and has a very gradual increase in size, giving a funnel effect, then increases more abruptly, forming an ear shape. The slope of the wide part (8) is between 20 and 50 deg., preferably between 35 and 45 deg. near the bottom edge (9) of the funnel. This reduces by 5 to 35 deg., preferably 10 to 20 deg.. A reducing part (1) on the propeller discharge side has an angle which increases by 5 to 35 deg., preferably 15 to 25 deg..
|
