PURPOSE:To prevent scumming in a non-image area without adversely affecting the adhesion of an ink in an image area by causing a pigment to adsorb or absorb a propylene oxide polymer and incorporating the pigment into the ink. CONSTITUTION:An org. or inorg. pigment is caused to adsorb or absorb 3-50wt.% propylene oxide polymer having an average mol.wt. of 400 or higher and shown by the formula: R1-Z-OR2 (wherein Z contains at least 30wt.% propylene oxide units; and R1 and R2 are each an org. group such as H, alkyl, or aryl), giving an additive for a lithographic ink. 1-10wt.% said additive is added to the ink. |
