PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boring tool, securing the rigidity of a reamer to thereby prevent run-out in high-speed rotation and form a machined hole with good accuracy, and restraining breakage due to cutting resistance to lengthen the life. SOLUTION: This boring tool 21 is inserted in a prepared hole previously formed in a material to be cut to cut the inner wall surface of the prepared hole. The boring tool has a shank part rotated around the axis O, and a knife edge part having a cutting blade 30 is provided at the forward end of the shank part. A chip discharge groove 27 extending from the forward end to the rear end is formed in the outer peripheral part of the knife edge part, and the cutting blade 30 is formed at the intersecting ridge part of the wall surface 28 directed to the forward end of the chip discharge groove 27 in the rotating direction of the tool and the outer peripheral surface 29 of the knife edge part.
