Wind entering a casing 15, via inlets 16, impinges upon blades 4 to cause a rod 8, to rotate. Secured to the rod 8, is a platform 7, which supports magnets 2, thereon for rotation with the rod 8. A plurality of armatures 1, are connected to the rod 8, and are also mounted for rotation about respective axes extending transversely of the rod. Each armature 1, has a rubber wheel 14, at one end, rolling on a groove mounted on the casing 15, and a pinion at the other end, meshing with a gear wheel 3, fixed to the casing. Rotation of the rod causes rotation of the armatures about their respective axes and relative to the magnets to generate an electric current. Details of the wiring of the armatures is disclosed and a battery powered motor 22, may be provided to provide initial rotation of the rod. |
