CERAMIC/METAL COMPOSITE BODY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful ceramic/metal composite body having both of the characteristics as ceramics and the characteristics as metals according to purposes of use and to provide a method for manufacturing the composite body. SOLUTION: The ceramic/metal composite body contains metals in the open pores of a sponge-like mesh porous body having ceramics as the matrix and >=50% proportion of open pores. The volume ratio of the ceramics is <=50%.
