An image device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to enhance efficiency by simplifying a manufacturing process of an external connection electrode. A photodiode is formed on a substrate pattern(10a) having an opening part. A plurality of metal line patterns(20a,20b,20c) are laminated under the substrate pattern and are separated from each other. An interlayer dielectric(30) is formed to fill gaps between the substrate pattern and the metal line patterns. A bottom surface of the opening is not lower than an upper surface of the interlayer dielectric so that the height of the opening is equal to that of the substrate pattern. An external connection electrode(70a) is formed on an upper surface of the interlayer dielectric.
