PURPOSE:To reduce the number of the external pipings for cooling the heat radiation shields by gathering either the recovery side or injection side cooling pipings into a manifold to draw them out of the apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Coolant is led from a supply source 9 to a superconducting apparatus 1 through external injection pipings 4 provided for each system, and injected into each system along piping 6. On the other hand, the coolant which has cooled the heat radiation shields 2 is gathered into a manifold 3 from cooling pipings 7 in the neighborhood of the joint 8 between the external pipings 4, 5 and the apparatus 1, and recovered or discharged to the outside through one external recovery piping 5. With this arrangement, the increase of the external pipings due to the increase of the cooling systems can be made small. Therefore, the increase of heat penetration into the piping 5 can be suppressed, and the low-temperature insulation or vacuum heat insulation piping accommodating the external pipings can be prevented from becoming large- scaled. |
