PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable recorder with telephone function by which continuous recording is enabled without caring for the limit of memory resources. SOLUTION: In this portable recorder capable of recording anywhere provided with an IC recorder function part 101 and a portable telephone function part 102, the IC recorder function part has a function for recording voice data in a memory cell such as semiconductor memory. The portable telephone function part has a function for identifying a telephone subscriber who is the owner of the portable recorder or person to pay call tariffs, by inserting an IC card 23. At the same time, even when the memory capacity of an IC recorder is close to the limit or does not reach the limit, the portable telephone function part performs a connection to a network automatically or according to the instruction of the user and transmits the recorded data of the IC recorder function part to a data server or distributed data archive device 40 in a data center on the network.
