One mode of the present invention is a spectacle lens production method that includes the formation of a coating layer by applying a coating solution to a surface on a lens substrate to be coated. The method is further characterized in that: the application is performed by spraying coating solution that has been atomized within the ultrasonic atomization device positioned above the curved surface to be coated, from the nozzles of the ultrasonic atomization device towards the surface to be coated; the ultrasonic atomizing device comprises an ultrasonic atomizing unit that atomizes a liquid by means of ultrasonic vibrations, and an air-current nozzle for regulating the discharge width of the atomized liquid; and during discharge of the atomized coating liquid, an air current is not blown out from the air current nozzle, or the air current blown out from the air current nozzle is restricted in such a manner that the air speed generated by said air current on the surface to be coated does not exceed 0.8m/second. |
