Sealing niches (6) are provided on the bottom sides (3a) of the door panels (3) and sealing lips (7) which can be fit into the niches are provided on the top sides (3b) of the panels. The niches and lips have interlocking sealing profiles and are in contact with one of the sliding surfaces (4) of the panels. The door has preferably rectangular, spaced apart panels with horizontal length sides, whilst the narrow sides of the panels are housed in lateral guide rails (1, 2). The panels are arranged vertically one above the other when the door is closed. When the door is open, the panels are stacked parallel to each other in a row inside a magazine section (2) of the guide rail next to the lintel, using a pull strap. The panels are preferably made by a forming technique described in DE-A-10108702 and preferably comprise cast lightweight metal, transparent material made from molten glass or press-moulded or injection-moulded plastic.
