<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for hydrocracking a heavy oil by which the yield is higher and/or cracked light oil can be obtained under milder conditions than the case of a method for hydrocracking by a suspended-bed method using a conventionally proposed iron-based catalyst when the heavy oil produced in a crude oil refining process and containing a heavy metal component is hydrocracked into the light oil. <P>SOLUTION: (1) The method for hydrocracking the heavy oil produced in the crude oil refining process and containing the heavy metal component comprises a vacuum distillation step of affording the heavy oil as a distillation residue by vacuum distillation and a reaction step of hydrocracking the heavy oil in the presence of the iron-based catalyst in a suspended-bed reactor. In the vacuum distillation step, the distillation is carried out at≤350°C. (2) Reaction conditions in the reaction step in the method are as follows: reaction pressure: 60-160 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>, reaction temperature: 430-455°C, reaction time: 30-180 min etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
