The invention relates to a process for treating sewage waters resulting from the alkaline processing of the uraniferous ores and the purification of the uranium technical concentrates. According to the invention, the process consists in treating sewage water in three stages, firstly by ionic exchange for removing and recovering uranium, then by the reverse osmosis to obtain a permeate representing 85...90% of the treated water volume and which is recirculated, and a concentrate, representing 10...15% of the initial volume of the water to be treated, wherein there are the pollutants in 10...15 times higher concentrations, this being then treated successively with a sodium hydroxide solution and a calcium chloride solution for removing the carbonate and sulphate anions and the molybdenum and for bringing the pH within the admitted limits, so that, after decantation, there being obtained a cleared solution concentrated in sodium chloride, which is reused, and a filtrable residue which is dried and appropriately stored. |
