<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus 1 including an exposure section 5 in which a plurality of light emitting elements are arranged substantially in a straight line and a photosensitive section 6 disposed opposite the exposure section 5, and configured so as to form an exposure image on the photosensitive section 6 by the exposure section 5, the apparatus being designed so as to diagnose and adjust a quantity of light emitted by the exposure section 5. <P>SOLUTION: A light receiving section 7 is disposed in a direction different from the photosensitive section 6 and detects a quantity of exposure of each of the plurality of light emitting elements.
