PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element configuration in which no degradation in element characteristics due to ion component occurs even if a material which contains ionic dopant such as PEDOT-PSS or PANI is used as a positive hole injection layer when generating an organic EL element. SOLUTION: A barrier layer consisting of inorganics which is denser than an organic thin film is provided between a charge injection layer and an organic light emitting layer. So the organic light emitting layer is prevented from degrading by such material as dispersed from an electrode or the like for an organic EL element of longer life. Since the organic charge injection layer contains ionic material, the organic EL element of long life is acquired using a charge transportation layer doped with the ionic material of high conductivity. Such organic EL element of long life can be acquired as uses, especially, PEDOT-PSS or PANI generally. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
