The present invention relates to: a novel polypeptide capable of specifically binding to a vascular endothelial growth factor; a polynucleotide coding for the polypeptide; a vector containing the polynucleotide; a recombinant microorganism into which the expression vector is introduced; a method for producing the polypeptide by using the recombinant microorganism; a composition for preventing or treating cancer, containing the polypeptide; and a method for preventing or treating cancer, comprising administering the composition for preventing or treating cancer, containing the polypeptide. The polypeptide of the present invention can bind to the vascular endothelial growth factor so as to inhibit the activity thereof, thereby being widely used as a preparation for preventing or treating various diseases associated with the vascular endothelial growth factor.
