This battery state measurement device is provided with: a sensor unit for detecting the voltage between terminals and the charge/discharge current of a battery mounted to a vehicle; and a sleep control unit for switching from an operation mode to a sleep mode in which power consumption is lower than while in the operation mode. The battery state measurement device is configured so that a predetermined detection interval Ts during the period of the sleep mode is equal to or shorter than a start-up detection period T1 set as the time from when a vehicle system starts up to when cranking starts.
