<p>The shield has an observation window providing protection for human eyes; and above the window is an inclined fume extn. hood connected to a suction pipe. The suction hood is pref. inclined at 45 deg. w.r.t. the vertical, and extends over the entire width of the face shield. The inlet of the suction hood is pref. aligned at 90 deg. to the axis of the hood. The suction pipe is pref. provided with a ball joint used to connect a hose leading to a suction appts.; and the ball joint permits the pipe to swivel w.r.t. the hose. The face shield pref. includes side pieces protecting the sides of a human head from weld spray. The shield is simple to use, but provides complete removal of fumes so the latter cannot reach a human worker.</p> |
