OPTICAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain a lightweight structure and a high-speed operation of an optical recording/reproducing device by supporting an optical head to a support stage with its centroid position defined as a fulcrum so that the head can move both horizontally and vertically to the surface of an information recording medium and providing plural concentric arc-shaped yokes, plural lead wires fixed to the optical head and plural magnets. CONSTITUTION:An optical head 6 is fixed by a holder 12 and two pivot bearings 13a which are set horizontal by two pins 14 and two fixed nuts 15 and also supported so as to move vertically with a horizontal fulcrum axis P of a support stage 11 defined as a center axis. The holder 12 is fixed by the stage 11 and two pivot shafts 13b which are set vertically by two pins 14 and two nuts 15 and supported so as to move horizontally with a vertical fulcrum axis R defined as a center axis. Then the magnetization polarities of permanent magnets 21 and 22 are set so that the magnetic fields are generated in the directions opposite to each other within two gaps formed among yokes 17-19. Then two lead wires 23 are inserted to the center yoke 18 and a current is supplied to produce the power to move the head 6 horizontally and vertically. This attains a lightweight structure and a high-speed steady feed for the head 6.
